Round 2 Introduction

Welcome to round 2 of the Unite4TB Core Outcome Set Study

In this round you will see the grouped results of round 1 and vote on the most important outcomes, called core outcomes, that should be measured in all future studies of treatments for pulmonary tuberculosis.

This is the final survey and it will take approximately 15 – 25 minutes

What do I have to do?

In this survey, you will see each of the outcomes from survey 1, along with your own rating and the grouped ratings of the other people that took part. We would like you to consider this information to reflect on your ratings. We aim to agree on which outcomes people diagnosed with TB, health professionals, researchers, and community representatives think must always be measured in the core outcome set. The core outcomes must be kept to a minimum as they should be feasible to measure in every study. After seeing the ratings of others, you can change your rating or keep it the same.

You will note an additional stakeholder group. 'TB civil society or community'. This was added in response to participant feedback. If you feel that you belong to this group instead please contact us using the email below.

Even though this survey looks similar to the one you’ve already completed, you are now being shown the opinions of others; it is really important that you also complete this second survey to ensure that your opinions can be taken into account.

Will there be new outcomes?

We considered all of the new outcomes suggested in round 1 and we have added three new outcomes:

-      Long-term sequelae or disability

-      Ability to work

-      Home days

Some suggestions have been used to update the description for existing outcomes. Other suggested outcomes have been incorporated into existing outcomes or were outside of the scope of the study or flagged to be considered in the next stage where we consider how to measure these outcomes.

What happens next?

The final, optional stage of this project will be an online meeting to discuss the results of the Delphi survey. You can express your interest in attending a meeting at the end of the survey, and we will send more information about the meeting closer to the time.
